Falconry with SBW Raptors

For the first time in Hampshire we are delighted to welcome Sam and SBW Raptors to our show in September.

SBW Raptors Live Falconry Displays bring together the raw beauty of birds of prey with the power and grace of horses in a thrilling, immersive experience. This isn’t just a show, it’s a dynamic blend of nature, heritage, and high-energy performance that captivates audiences of all ages.

What You’ll See

Hawks: Agile, fast-turning flyers that weave through the air with incredible control and quick bursts of speed

Falcons: Built for speed, expect dramatic high-altitude climbs followed by breathtaking, lightning-fast dives

Owls: Silent, ghost-like glides just inches above the crowd

Eagles: Majestic wingspans and powerful, commanding flights

Horses in Action: Skilled riders working in harmony with birds of prey

A Living Piece of History

Falconry is one of the oldest hunting traditions in the world, dating back over 4,000 years. SBW Raptors bring this ancient art to life with a modern twist, combining historical storytelling with edge-of-your-seat action.

THE SHOW-BRED ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIEL

We are so looking forward, to this ‘event’ to promote the show-bred English Springer Spaniel.   The English Springer is one of the UK’s most popular breeds, however sadly only around 1% of the puppy registrations are of show type, making it vulnerable to say the least.   A small group of passionate owners are looking at ways to promote this most fantastic of breeds and to showcase its beauty, versatility and suitability as an ideal family dog.   We can’t wait to meet everyone at the Hampshire Countryside Day.

Dampney’s Remarkable Drinks

Dampney’s Remarkable Drinks started as a germ of an idea in the summer of 2015. After two years of development, our first range of drinks was launched in 2017.

The Dampney family have been sharing their hipflasks of homemade sloe gin for generations and it was time for a little experimentation. Why not try some other fruits using the same method? Dan Tanner’s ‘Pick your own’ farm at Sopley in the New Forest was on the doorstep and Dan was happy to supply surplus fruit, so the trials began. The only problem being that the fruit we were using had previously been fed as a treat to Dan’s red deer. Unfortunately for them, they are now on reduced rations!

We are delighted to welcome this year The Working Clumber Spaniel Society – please come and meet the team at The CA tent.

The Working Clumber Spaniel Society

The Working Clumber Spaniel Society was formed in 1984 by a group of enthusiasts keen to restore the breed to a position of respect in the shooting field. Over 30 years of selective breeding, training and focus has produced the modern working Clumber which now closely resembles the original agile sporting spaniel prized by the Victorian sportsmen for their outstanding scenting abilities and tireless work rate.

Growing to over 400 enthusiastic members, the Society is very active. A packed programme sees field training, working tests, field trials, game fair appearances and some fabulous shooting days. The dedicated work of the Society is now bearing fruit for the breed which is increasingly being seen on shooting fields being worked confidently alongside springer and cocker spaniels.
