Gun Dog Scurry

 

With special thanks to Gamekeeper Goods who have donated some fabulous generous prizes for the scurry, and Skinner’s for their generous voucher donations and BASC for sponsoring rosettes. 

These events are open to all breeds of gundogs and the general public.

All events are open competitions.

All classes start at 10am and last entries are 2.30pm.

All prizes MUST be collected on the day

£4 per entry or  £10 to do all three scurries.   Junior entry £3

Entries taken from 10 am.

Final entries 2.30pm.

Prize giving at 3.15pm approx at entry tent.

Scurry 1  –  Over the bales

Scurry 2 –  Mark and memory

Scurry 3  –  Hunt up.

 

Rosettes for 1st to 4th in each scurry (open to all)

Rosettes for 1st to 4th – junior handler (under 16) for Scurry 1 (over the bales).

Cup to fastest combined time Scurry 1, 2 and 3 (open to all).

This year we are pleased to be welcoming a number of packs to the Show for our Hound Parade.  There will also be static displays and a chance to talk to the people who work with these hounds who will be more than happy to answer any questions you have throughout the day.

The Coursing Crew are a group of like-minded friends, that have worked and competed with their own dogs for many years, we are mainly based in the East Midlands. We have been travelling all over the country organising and running Lurcher & Terrier events for about 15 years.

We have a Facebook page “Coursing Crew shows & events”.

Entries taken from 9am for all field events, which will commence at 10am approx with simulated coursing followed by straight racing for over 23″, 23″ & under, under 21″, puppies(9-12 months), whippets & terrier racing.

When all field events are completed there will be a presentation for the winners at the entry tent.

The full Lurcher & Terrier show will commence at 1pm approx.

Entry Criteria

Only undocked and legally docked terriers may be entered at this show.

All terriers born on or after 6 April 2007 must be legally docked to be entered.

Exhibitors must be members of a working terrier club. Terrier breed club or be a hunt terrier man, gamekeeper or pest controller at the time of entry.
